BioPlastik

In the ​“BioPlastik” cooper­a­tion net­work, part­ners from industry and aca­demia work togeth­er under the man­age­ment of IBB Net­zwerk GmbH. The net­work was fun­ded by the Ger­man Fed­er­al Min­istry for Eco­nom­ic Affairs and Energy for three years; since the begin­ning of 2017, the part­ners have been fin­an­cing the net­work them­selves. The BioPlastik net­work provides the per­fect breed­ing ground for innov­a­tions: Experts from a wide range of fields such as films, pack­aging, envir­on­ment­al tech­no­logy or adhes­ives cov­er the entire value chain from research and devel­op­ment to mar­ket­ing. The net­work’s part­ners have set them­selves the task of car­ry­ing out pro­jects to devel­op innov­at­ive, bio-based, degrad­able and at the same time low-cost biopoly­mers. In this way, mater­i­als made from bioplastics are expec­ted to gain sig­ni­fic­ant mar­ket shares in mass-pro­duced products.
