With the newly established “Plastics Recycling” network, we would like to represent the entire value chain. Thus, among others, suppliers of “old plastics” or reprocessed recyclates with virgin material qualities, plant manufacturers, processors of the recyclates into high-quality products, end users of the products and many more shall belong to the network. Furthermore, the properties of products are to be influenced by additives in such a way that upcycling occurs and special properties can be achieved. The network shall cover mechanical as well as chemical (biochemical, organic) recycling.
Within the network, contact opportunities with companies and research institutes are to be promoted, which will result in multiple cooperation opportunities. Bringing together different partners with complementary expertise and bundling their competences is one of IBB’s tasks. If members have special product wishes, these will be served by the network members and/or suitable companies will be acquired — also through active partner acquisition on the part of IBB. Existing project ideas or project ideas created/initiated by IBB are formulated into R&D projects with the support of IBB and, if desired, submitted for funding.
