Cir­cu­lar Eco­nomy Fund­ing Oppor­tun­ity Between EU and South­east Asia

The Fed­er­al Repub­lic of Ger­many is inter­ested in strength­en­ing the mul­ti­lat­er­al rela­tions of Ger­many and Europe with South­east Asia in numer­ous fields, includ­ing the cir­cu­lar eco­nomy. Sci­entif­ic cooper­a­tions make an import­ant con­tri­bu­tion to this.

The pur­pose of the fund­ing guideline is to pro­mote the joint pro­cessing of research ques­tions with a focus on the cir­cu­lar eco­nomy. This includes both meas­ures for research cooper­a­tion and meas­ures for net­work­ing and sci­entif­ic exchange. Mul­ti­lat­er­al and at the same time bi-region­al research asso­ci­ations are supported.

Uni­ver­sit­ies, non-uni­ver­sity research insti­tu­tions, com­pan­ies in the com­mer­cial sec­tor and oth­er insti­tu­tions that make research con­tri­bu­tions are eli­gible to apply.

Uni­ver­sit­ies, non-uni­ver­sity research insti­tu­tions, com­mer­cial enter­prises and oth­er insti­tu­tions that con­trib­ute to research are eli­gible to apply.

At the time of pay­ment of a grant, the exist­ence of a per­man­ent estab­lish­ment or branch office (com­pany) or anoth­er insti­tu­tion that serves the non-eco­nom­ic activ­ity of the grant recip­i­ent (high­er edu­ca­tion insti­tu­tion, research insti­tu­tions and oth­er insti­tu­tions that make research con­tri­bu­tions) in Ger­many is required.

Research insti­tu­tions that receive basic fund­ing from the fed­er­al and/​or state gov­ern­ments can only receive pro­ject fund­ing for their addi­tion­al pro­ject-related expenses or costs in addi­tion to their insti­tu­tion­al fund­ing under cer­tain con­di­tions.
