Intention: CO2Lubricants is the name of a R&D project within the network UseCO2 and funded by BMBF. Four companies and one academic institute joined forces to use the noxious greenhouse gas carbon dioxide as starting material for a sustainable lubricant. The carbon dioxide derives from industry emissions and from the atmosphere. For the lubricant’s production, microalgae and yeasts are utilized.
R&D‑Partners: AUDIAG, TUM München (Werner Siemens-Chair for Synthetic Biotechnology), provenion, subitec, Klüber Lubrication München
Funding: Funding Framework “Forschung für nachhaltige Entwicklung – FONA3“
