Insti­tute for Cir­cu­lar Eco­nomy of Bio:Polymers at Hof University

Sus­tain­ab­il­ity in action – turn­ing this into a real­ity is a chal­lenge cur­rently faced by many work­ing with plastic products. The research done at the ibp stands for innov­at­ive and sus­tain­able pro­cesses and products involving bio and recycled plastics, renew­able resources and effi­cient use of con­ven­tion­al plastics. Our work is aimed at imple­ment­ing solu­tions with smart and min­im­al mater­i­al usage. Togeth­er with domest­ic and inter­na­tion­al industry part­ners, we design sus­tain­able films and man­u­fac­ture pack­aging and injec­tion mold­ing parts for the agri­cul­tur­al, food, cos­met­ics and auto­mot­ive sec­tors. Aside from our research in the field of plastics, we also devel­op sus­tain­able build­ing mater­i­als based on nat­ur­al resid­ual and waste products among oth­er things.

The institute’s expert­ise primar­ily lies in indus­tri­al applic­a­tions with the aim of product devel­op­ment and con­serving resources. In addi­tion, it bridges the gap between the domest­ic and inter­na­tion­al research land­scape through fun­da­ment­al research in the field of bio­lo­gic­al waste product utilization.
