Glob­al Bioeconomy Sum­mit 2026

On 20 – 21 Octo­ber 2026, Dub­lin will wel­come the world’s bioeconomy com­munity for the Glob­al Bioeconomy Sum­mit 2026 (GBS 2026), bring­ing togeth­er glob­al expert­ise at the Con­ven­tion Centre Dub­lin dur­ing Ireland’s Pres­id­ency of the Coun­cil of the European Union.

Recog­nised as the world’s lead­ing inter­na­tion­al for­um on the bioeconomy, the Sum­mit brings togeth­er polit­ic­al lead­ers, poli­cy­makers, research­ers, industry, investors and civil soci­ety from across the globe to accel­er­ate sus­tain­able, bio-based innov­a­tion and solutions.

Ire­land was selec­ted as host fol­low­ing GBS 2024 in Nairobi, reflect­ing its grow­ing lead­er­ship in bioeconomy policy and research, bio-based innov­a­tion, and cir­cu­lar bioeconomy solutions.

GBS 2026 will explore how the bioeconomy can drive innov­a­tion, eco­nom­ic growth and cli­mate action — from sus­tain­able food sys­tems and bio-based mater­i­als to low-car­bon industry and rur­al development.

The Glob­al Bioeconomy Sum­mit has been held in 2015, 2018, 2020 and 2024 and is organ­ised by the Inter­na­tion­al Advis­ory Coun­cil on Glob­al Bioeconomy (IACGB) in part­ner­ship with host countries.
