European Bioplastics Innov­a­tion Award 2025

The award will be presen­ted dur­ing the 20^th European Bioplastics Con­fer­ence (EBC25) on 2 – 3 Decem­ber 2025 in Ber­lin and online, high­light­ing the most impact­ful innov­a­tions in the bioplastics sector.

As European Bioplastics cel­eb­rate the 20^th edi­tion of EBC, we are excited to bring this recog­ni­tion of bioplastics excel­lence back to the stage.

We invite com­pan­ies, start-ups, research insti­tu­tions, and innov­at­ors to sub­mit their most prom­ising bioplastic products, mater­i­als, or solu­tions. The award aims to high­light devel­op­ments that com­bine tech­no­lo­gic­al excel­lence with real sus­tain­ab­il­ity impact and strong mar­ket relevance.

The team of experts will select the five most con­vin­cing entries, who will be invited to present their innov­a­tions in a short pitch at EBC25. The win­ner will be chosen by live audi­ence vote – both on-site and online.

Award Focus

Sub­mis­sions should relate to one of the fol­low­ing themes:

• Mater­i­al Innovation
• Product Design & Application
• Sus­tain­ab­il­ity & Circularity
• Mar­ket Read­i­ness / Scale-Up

We are look­ing for tan­gible, innov­at­ive solu­tions that demon­strate how bioplastics can con­trib­ute to a cir­cu­lar and cli­mate-friendly future.

How to Apply

Applic­ants must com­plete a short applic­a­tion form including:

• Gen­er­al inform­a­tion (con­tact, pro­ject title, etc.)
• Descrip­tion of the innov­a­tion (incl. sus­tain­ab­il­ity aspects)
• Tech­nic­al details (e.g. mater­i­al type, end-of-life options)
• Sup­port­ing mater­i­al (images, cer­ti­fic­ates, com­pany logo)
