BIO­MAC Enters a New Era – Your Gate­way to Mar­ket-Ready Biobased Innovations

After four years of impact­ful col­lab­or­a­tion, the European pro­ject BIO­MAC – European Sus­tain­able BIO-based nan­o­MA­ter­i­als Com­munity is con­clud­ing its EU-fun­ded phase. With over €14 mil­lion in sup­port from the Hori­zon 2020 pro­gramme and a strong net­work of 33 part­ners across Europe, BIO­MAC has laid the found­a­tion for a last­ing eco­sys­tem that empowers innov­a­tion in the cir­cu­lar bioeconomy. 

Coordin­ated by Aris­totle Uni­ver­sity of Thes­saloniki and with a pivotal role played by IBB Net­zwerk GmbH as Work Pack­age Lead­er, BIO­MAC developed a unique Open Innov­a­tion Test Bed (OITB) to accel­er­ate the trans­ition from lab-scale nan­o­ma­ter­i­als to mar­ket-ready products. Through 17 inter­con­nec­ted pilot lines and a com­pre­hens­ive range of expert ser­vices, BIO­MAC sup­por­ted break­throughs in pack­aging, agri­cul­ture, tex­tiles, con­struc­tion, and automotive.

A New Begin­ning – BIO­MAC OITB is Open for Business

The con­clu­sion of EU fund­ing marks a new chapter: the BIO­MAC is turn­ing into an Open Innov­a­tion Test Bed, open to cli­ents across the globe. As the offi­cial Single Entry Point (SEP), IBB Net­zwerk GmbH proudly coordin­ates this trans­ition – offer­ing dir­ect access to an unpar­alleled innov­a­tion ecosystem.
