IraSME is not a funding programme. It is a joint initiative of independent national/regional funding organisations, which means that SMEs apply for financial support directly from the relevant national/regional institutions or funding programmes, e.g. COIN for Austrian project partners, ZIM for German partners, etc. IraSME acts as an umbrella organisation to ensure that you apply with the same project in all participating jurisdictions.
Beschreibung
IraSME is a network of ministries and funding agencies that own and/or manage national or regional funding programmes for cooperative research and development projects between small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Some of the network members also allow research and technology organisations (RTOs) that act as cooperation partners to these SMEs to apply for funding.
Against the backdrop of growing competition in global markets, IraSME supports SMEs in their transnational innovation activities, helping them to acquire technological know-how, expand their networks and bridge the gap between research and innovation. The coordination of the network is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK).
Countries participating in IraSME: Austria, Belgium (Flanders & Wallonia), Brazil, Canada (Alberta), the Czech Republic, Germany, Luxembourg, Turkey and Russia.
In July 2014, the original name EraSME was changed to IraSME (International Research Activities for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises) to emphasise the international orientation of the network.
