Tech­no­func­tion­al Pro­teins — TeFuProt

Inten­tion:
The TeFuProt pro­ject part­ners intend to isol­ate pro­teins from agri­cul­tur­al resid­ual plant mater­i­als, espe­cially from can­ola oil pro­duc­tion. After­wards, pro­teins should be mod­i­fied and equipped with new, techno-func­tion­al prop­er­ties. This way, the pro­teins could be used as basic mater­i­als or addit­ives in dif­fer­ent products, e.g., col­ors, deter­gents, con­struc­tion mater­i­als, lub­ric­a­tions, plastics, among oth­ers. On top of that, products with entirely new, extraordin­ary prop­er­ties should be pro­duced through func­tion­al­iz­ing pro­tein deriv­ates. There­fore, the innov­a­tion alliance’s goal of TeFuProt is to make plant pro­teins from side products of indus­tri­al oil­seeds pro­cessing useable and func­tion­al com­pon­ents in dif­fer­ent tech­nic­al applic­a­tions. This bioeco­nom­ic approach should counter the scarcity and expec­ted long-term price increase of fossil raw materials.
