Intention: The TeFuProt project partners intend to isolate proteins from agricultural residual plant materials, especially from canola oil production. Afterwards, proteins should be modified and equipped with new, techno-functional properties. This way, the proteins could be used as basic materials or additives in different products, e.g., colors, detergents, construction materials, lubrications, plastics, among others. On top of that, products with entirely new, extraordinary properties should be produced through functionalizing protein derivates. Therefore, the innovation alliance’s goal of TeFuProt is to make plant proteins from side products of industrial oilseeds processing useable and functional components in different technical applications. This bioeconomic approach should counter the scarcity and expected long-term price increase of fossil raw materials.
