TU Munich — Werner Siemens-Chair of Synthetic Biotechnology
The Werner Siemens-Chair of Synthetic Biotechnology researches and develops sustainable solutions to produce chemical and pharmaceutical basic and fine chemicals based on biotechnological processes. The starting materials for these processes are biogenic residual material streams from agriculture, forestry and food production, such as straw, wood chips or crab shells. These residue streams do not compete with food production and have no direct impact on land use or water consumption.
