For almost three decades, the Gene Center of Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität Munich has been a driving force in the life sciences in Bavaria. With 16 research groups and approximately 250 employees from more than 20 countries, it is a leader in research in the molecular life sciences. An English-language master’s program and doctoral programs serve to train the next generation of specialists and leaders. The scientific focus is on gene activity in living systems. A new building for the Research Center for Molecular Biosystems (BioSysM) is now being constructed in the immediate vicinity of the Gene Center.
