Fraunhofer-Insti­tute for Chem­ic­al Tech­no­logy ICT

The Fraunhofer-Gesell­schaft pro­motes and con­ducts inter­na­tion­ally net­worked applic­a­tion-ori­ented research for the dir­ect bene­fit of industry and for the bene­fit of soci­ety. The Fraunhofer Insti­tute for Chem­ic­al Tech­no­logy ICT is one of cur­rently 60 insti­tutes of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft.

In addi­tion to con­tract research for industry, Fraunhofer ICT also works togeth­er with com­mer­cial com­pan­ies on research tasks that are co-fin­anced by the fed­er­al and state gov­ern­ments and the European Union.

On a total area of 200,000 square meters, approx­im­ately 12,000 square meters are avail­able for pilot plants, test benches and work­shops, and a fur­ther 13,000 square meters for labor­at­or­ies, infra­struc­ture, and offices.

The Fraunhofer ICT cur­rently employs around 500 people. Under the dir­ec­tion of Prof. Dr. Peter Els­ner, the total budget in 2011 was around 32 mil­lion euros.
