AMSilk GmbH is a privately fun­ded com­pany that devel­ops, pro­duces and glob­ally dis­trib­utes innov­at­ive ingredi­ents for cos­met­ics, nov­el med­ic­al products and tech­nic­al fibers from bio­tech­no­lo­gic­al and func­tion­al silk proteins.

The func­tion­al silk is biocom­pat­ible and can thus be used in dif­fer­ent applic­a­tions, com­pris­ing med­ic­al engin­eer­ing through spe­cial­ized coat­ing and oth­er products. Just like oth­er biopoly­mers, silk has been improved and optim­ized by nature dur­ing mil­lions of years of evol­u­tion. Through this optim­iz­a­tion, silk has gained unique com­bin­a­tions of char­ac­ter­ist­ics that are super­i­or to known syn­thet­ic mater­i­als. AMSilk has developed a pro­pri­et­ary indus­tri­al pro­cess to pro­duce these unique biopoly­mers and is lead­ing the fur­ther pro­cessing of this material.
