The BIO­MAC pro­ject: A European open innov­a­tion test bed

BIO­MAC is the abbre­vi­ation for European Sus­tain­able Bionanomater­i­als Community. It is an Hori­zon 2020 pro­ject that pro­motes an Open Innov­a­tion Test Bed in which tech­no­lo­gies and solu­tions using bio-based nan­o­ma­ter­i­als are scaled up and pre­pared for mar­ket applic­a­tions.

Just a few num­bers: 34 part­ners form 12 coun­tries col­lab­or­ate in this pro­ject, form­ing 17 pilot lines and 3 trans­vers­al ser­vice hubs cov­er­ing the entire pro­duc­tion chain from bio­mass to final product as well as all aspects of mar­ket entry.

An open call will seek and select five test cases in auto­mot­ive, agri­cul­ture, food pack­aging, con­struc­tion and prin­ted elec­tron­ics applic­a­tions that use bio-based nan­o­ma­ter­i­als.
