1^st GPCA Star­tup Nexus

Young, agile start-up com­pan­ies are the guar­an­tee for new ideas and innov­a­tions. The chal­lenges in a pros­per­ous and grow­ing world are enorm­ous. Young com­pan­ies want to expand their busi­ness. They need cooper­a­tion and cap­it­al. The large estab­lished com­pan­ies and inter­na­tion­al investors are look­ing for very good ideas that need to be brought to growth.

The 18^th annu­al GPCA For­um aims to pro­mote the exchange between investors, star­tups and exper­i­enced com­pan­ies. With the 1^st GPCA Star­tup Nex­us, there is now a suit­able net­work­ing plat­form for this. On this stage, the best star­tups from the fields of Cir­cu­lar Eco­nomy and Cli­mate Action, selec­ted by the GPCA Expert Pan­el, will present their ground­break­ing and for­ward-look­ing ideas.

On Decem­ber 3 and 4, 2024, 10 start-ups (from the region and abroad) will be presen­ted in Shark Tank-style present­a­tions. This will be fol­lowed by a short Q&A ses­sion. There will also be the oppor­tun­ity to hold con­fid­en­tial dis­cus­sions in sep­ar­ate rooms. In this way, the GPCA Star­tup Nex­us pro­motes busi­ness ideas and products for the mar­kets and require­ments of tomorrow.

Cri­ter­ia for participation

Star­tup com­pan­ies should focus on one of the fol­low­ing areas:

Cir­cu­lar economy

• Advanced chem­ic­al plastics recycling
• Advanced mech­an­ic­al plastics recycling
• Dissolution/​decontamination recyc­ling for mixed plastic waste
• Trace­ab­il­ity of the value chain (AI, block­chain tech­no­lo­gies, etc.)
• Design for recyc­ling (DfR)

Cli­mate action

• Decar­bon­iz­a­tion of indus­tri­al pro­cesses (tech­no­lo­gies such as CCU, CCUS, hydro­gen, bio­mass, elec­tri­fic­a­tion, etc.)
• Renew­able energy gen­er­a­tion and man­age­ment solutions
• Detec­tion, mon­it­or­ing and energy effi­ciency tools

Com­pan­ies in the start-up phase should meet the fol­low­ing requirements:

• Your com­pany has been founded.
• Your com­pany was foun­ded in or after 2017 (max­im­um 7 years old)
• Your tech­no­logy has at least the matur­ity level of feas­ib­il­ity in the labor­at­ory (Tech­no­logy Read­i­ness Level 4).
