Bundes­verb­and der Deutschen Kal­kin­dus­trie e.V. — Fed­er­al Asso­ci­ation of the Ger­man Lime Industry

The Fed­er­al Asso­ci­ation of the Ger­man Lime Industry (BVK) rep­res­ents almost 100% of all lime pro­du­cers in Ger­many and has addi­tion­al mem­bers from Aus­tria and Switzer­land. The BVK is com­mit­ted to rep­res­ent­ing the lime industry in Ger­many vis-à-vis polit­ics and author­it­ies and sees itself as a part­ner of the pub­lic, busi­nesses, and sci­ence. Its main tasks include the tar­geted rep­res­ent­a­tion of interests and com­mu­nic­a­tion with legis­lat­ive stake­hold­ers to prop­erly rep­res­ent the interests of the lime industry. The BVK is present at the top organ­iz­a­tions of the Ger­man eco­nomy to be involved in all issues rel­ev­ant to the lime industry at every stage of dis­cus­sion and decision-mak­ing. In addi­tion, it has the task of provid­ing inform­a­tion on the vari­ous lime products, such as build­ing lime and lime­stone, burnt, slaked and car­bon­ated lime, as well as their spe­cif­ic applic­a­tions and areas of use. The res­ults of research, stand­ards work and qual­ity assur­ance are avail­able to all mem­bers. The Fed­er­al Asso­ci­ation of the Ger­man Lime Industry is a mem­ber of the European (EuLA) and Inter­na­tion­al Lime Asso­ci­ation (ILA).

As an indis­pens­able key and basic industry, the Ger­man lime industry is facing up to the major chal­lenges of our time. In this con­text, applic­a­tion-ori­ented research sup­ports the focal points and object­ives for­mu­lated in the Roadmap Cli­mate-Pos­it­ive Lime Industry 2050 of the Fed­er­al Asso­ci­ation of the Ger­man Lime Industry (BVK)! Thus, the top­ics CO2/CCU/CCS are cur­rently addressed by research. Espe­cially in the field of CO2 cap­ture and CCU applic­a­tion, the BVK is act­ive with­in the IBB network.
