IBB Net­zwerk GmbH mem­ber of ​“Bio-based Indus­tries Con­sor­ti­um” (BIC)

Ten organ­iz­a­tions author­ized Indus­tri­elle Bio­tech­no­lo­gie Bay­ern Net­zwerk GmbH (IBB Net­zwerk GmbH) to rep­res­ent them in the inter­na­tion­al non-profit Asso­ci­ation ​“Bio-based Indus­tries Con­sor­ti­um” (BIC). BIC is the private part of the pub­lic-private part­ner­ship BRIDGE. BRIDGE stands for ​“Biobased and Renew­able Indus­tries for Devel­op­ment and Growth in Europe” and will be estab­lished in Janu­ary 2014 with­in the next frame­work pro­gram for research HORI­ZON 2020 of the European Com­mis­sion. It was ini­ti­ated to real­ize the trans­ition towards a post-pet­ro­leum soci­ety while decoup­ling eco­nom­ic growth from resource deple­tion and envir­on­ment­al impact. As a reg­u­lar mem­ber of BIC with vot­ing right, IBB Net­zwerk GmbH will, in accord­ance with the rep­res­en­ted organ­iz­a­tions, sup­port the ambi­tions of BRIDGE. These ambi­tions are to use and exploit the poten­tial of Europe’s bio-based indus­tries through research, innov­a­tion and demon­stra­tion along the whole value chain in order to build a more com­pet­it­ive, effi­cient and sus­tain­able Europe by 2020. BIC has the object­ive to pre­pare, set-up and assist in the exe­cu­tion of BRIDGE. Until 2020, about 3.8 bil­lion Euros shall be inves­ted in new and sus­tain­able ways to organ­ize a new, bio-based eco­nomy. The organ­iz­a­tions, which IBB Net­zwerk GmbH rep­res­ents in BIC, are: 2mag AG, ANiM­OX GmbH, Bay­erischer Müller­bund e. V., BioCam­pus Straub­ing GmbH, Cysal GmbH, Euro­ferm GmbH, FRITZMEI­ER Umwelt­tech­nik GmbH & Co. KG/​inocre^®, Glob­al Bioen­er­gies S.A., Poly­ma­ter­i­als AG and provenion gmbh, all mem­bers of the IBB net­work and of the share­hold­er asso­ci­ation. ​“We are grate­ful for the con­fid­ence of the organ­iz­a­tions author­iz­ing IBB Net­zwerk GmbH to rep­res­ent them in BIC. At the moment, BIC con­sists of nearly 50 European industry mem­bers, as well as asso­ci­ate mem­bers, like Research and Tech­no­logy Organ­iz­a­tions, uni­ver­sit­ies and European trade associations.
