Europa­Bio and Smith­ers Rapra announce call for papers for European For­um for Indus­tri­al Bio­tech­no­logy and the Biobased eco­nomy 2014

In its 7th year, EFIB is clearly estab­lished as the mar­ket lead­ing con­fer­ence for the biobased eco­nomy. After 2013 saw the event’s suc­cess­ful trans­form­a­tion from a large con­fer­ence to a full scale con­gress, EFIB will be head­ing to Reims, Cham­pagne-Ardenne from 30 Septem­ber — 2 Octo­ber 2014. This new ven­ue will allow the con­fer­ence to make the most of its new format, and draw an even lar­ger crowd of indus­tri­al bio­tech­no­logy pro­fes­sion­als. Organ­ised in asso­ci­ation with IAR and with a great­er focus on the com­mer­cial­iz­a­tion of the bioeconomy, EFIB once again gath­ers togeth­er the fore­most rep­res­ent­at­ives of Europe’s biobased com­munity. EFIB is con­sist­ent in attract­ing an unri­valled cal­ibre of speak­ers from across policy and busi­ness, and the organ­isers are cur­rently invit­ing inter­ested parties to sub­mit papers for review for the innov­a­tion ses­sions. This year’s advis­ory board fea­tures high pro­file rep­res­ent­at­ives from industry-lead­ing com­pan­ies across the value chain, includ­ing DSM, DuPont, Ecov­er and BioAm­ber, who are ded­ic­ated to ensur­ing that the innov­a­tion ses­sions fea­ture only the most cur­rent case stud­ies. Nom­in­a­tions are wel­come for papers cov­er­ing new products or pro­cesses that have come onto the mar­ket in 2014 or are in the pipeline for release in 2015, and have not been pub­licly shared. These should demon­strate how value has been driv­en in the bioeconomy, how a product has suc­cess­fully been incor­por­ated into an end-use sec­tor or how invest­ment aware­ness has been stim­u­lated.

Sub­mis­sions should be made with the fol­low­ing criteria: 

  • Send a present­a­tion title and abstract of no more than 250 words along with your name, job title, organ­iz­a­tion and short bio­graphy to hmarsden@​smithers.​com by Fri­day 28 February 
  • All requests are sent to the advis­ory board and will be assessed for timeli­ness, qual­ity and rel­ev­ance to this year’s agenda objectives 
  • Plen­ary ses­sions are strictly invit­a­tion only and no papers can be sub­mit­ted for these ses­sions except at the spe­cif­ic request of the organisers 
  • Europa­Bio and Smith­ers Rapra reserve the right to make the final decision
