Call for Innov­a­tions: 9^th Con­fer­ence on CO2 based Fuels and Chemicals

nova-Insti­tute and YNCOR­IS, togeth­er with the co-organ­iser CO₂ Value Europe will award a prize to innov­at­ive products and tech­no­lo­gies in the field of Car­bon Cap­ture and Car­bon Util­isa­tion (Power-to‑X) at the ​“9^th Con­fer­ence on CO₂-based Fuels and Chem­ic­als”. Cap­tur­ing CO₂ from ambi­ent air, make vodka out of it or let microbes con­vert CO₂ into a grid-scale energy stor­age solu­tion, these are just three out of hun­dreds of pos­sible Car­bon Cap­ture and Util­isa­tion (CCU) options. The port­fo­lio of poten­tial products from CO₂ and renew­able ener­gies instead of fossil resources is nearly infin­ite. Based on the Power-to‑X concept, e.g. large quant­it­ies of ker­osene, fuels and plat­form chem­ic­als can be pro­duced from CO₂. Fur­ther, spe­cial­ties such as pro­teins and cos­met­ic ingredi­ents made from CO₂ are on their way. Only a few polit­ic­al decisions would be needed to build the CCU industry of tomor­row. The tech­no­lo­gies to end the fossil age and to lead into a cli­mate-neut­ral and cir­cu­lar future are ready! Togeth­er with YNCOR­IS and CO₂ Value Europe, the nova-Insti­tute offers with the innov­a­tion award ​“Best CO₂ Util­isa­tion 2021” innov­at­ors in the CCU field the unique oppor­tun­ity to present and mar­ket their car­bon cap­ture or car­bon util­isa­tion (Power-to‑X) tech­no­logy, CO₂-based fuel or chem­ic­al at one of the lead­ing con­fer­ences on CO₂ as a raw mater­i­al. As last year, more than 200 lead­ing inter­na­tion­al experts are expec­ted to attend. The only require­ment for par­ti­cip­a­tion in the award is that your product is already on the mar­ket or about to be launched. Pro­du­cers and invent­ors are invited to hand over their free of charge applic­a­tion by mid of Janu­ary 2021. An inde­pend­ent jury of experts will pre-select the ​“Top 6” can­did­ates from all applic­a­tions. The nom­in­ees receive a free 2‑day tick­et for the con­fer­ence. In a ten-minute present­a­tion the can­did­ates present their innov­a­tions to the audi­ence. After the present­a­tions, the con­fer­ence audi­ence will select the three win­ners. They will be hon­oured with the YNCOR­IS-sponsored Innov­a­tion Award dur­ing the fest­ive din­ner buf­fet on the even­ing of March 23^rd. The innov­a­tion award for the ​“Best CO₂ Util­isa­tion 2021” will be gran­ted at the ​“9^th Con­fer­ence on CO₂-based Fuels and Chem­ic­als”, 23 – 24 March 2021, Cologne, Ger­many – a well-estab­lished meet­ing point for com­pan­ies work­ing in the field of CO₂-based tech­no­lo­gies, fuels and chem­ic­als. The first day of the con­fer­ence includes the ​“2^nd European Sum­mit on CO₂-based Avi­ation Fuels” in cooper­a­tion with IASA e.V.. As a hybrid event the con­fer­ence com­bines a ​“live” in-per­son event with a ​“vir­tu­al” online com­pon­ent. As a fol­low-up to the con­fer­ence, nova-Insti­tute and CO₂ Value Europe will issue an inter­na­tion­al press release and use their wide-ran­ging com­mu­nic­a­tion chan­nels to announce the win­ners. Addi­tion­ally, the first place will receive com­mu­nic­a­tion sup­port from CO₂ Value Europe to pro­mote their tech­no­logy or product, accord­ing to their busi­ness devel­op­ment needs. They will also have an oppor­tun­ity to present their tech­no­logy at the CO₂ Value Day organ­ised mid-2021, which will gath­er more than 100 par­ti­cipants from the CO₂ Value Europe mem­ber com­pan­ies.
