Karlsruhe Institute of Technology — Institute for Industrial Production (IIP)
The Institute of Industrial Management and Industrial Production (IIP) emerged from the Institute for “Manufacturing Economics and Labor Science and the Project Group Techno-Economics” of the University of Karlsruhe (TH) in 1982. In 1991, the German-French Institute for Environmental Research (DFIU) was founded, which has been cooperating closely with the IIP ever since. The Karlsruhe Institute of Technology was created in 2009 by the merger of the Karlsruhe Research Center and the University of Karlsruhe.
At the Chair of Business Administration, in particular Production Management and Logistics, techno-economic analyses of industrial value chains are carried out with a focus on risk management, circular economy systems, integrated environmental protection measures and biomass utilization, as well as production planning tasks.
The Chair of Energy Economics analyzes techno-economic issues along the entire energy value chain from primary energy production, energy conversion and energy transport to energy distribution and energy use.
The German-French Institute for Environmental Research develops joint solutions for cross-border problems in the fields of air, water, soil, waste and energy.
