Institute for Circular Economy of Bio:Polymers at Hof University
Sustainability in action – turning this into a reality is a challenge currently faced by many working with plastic products. The research done at the ibp stands for innovative and sustainable processes and products involving bio and recycled plastics, renewable resources and efficient use of conventional plastics. Our work is aimed at implementing solutions with smart and minimal material usage. Together with domestic and international industry partners, we design sustainable films and manufacture packaging and injection molding parts for the agricultural, food, cosmetics and automotive sectors. Aside from our research in the field of plastics, we also develop sustainable building materials based on natural residual and waste products among other things.
The institute’s expertise primarily lies in industrial applications with the aim of product development and conserving resources. In addition, it bridges the gap between the domestic and international research landscape through fundamental research in the field of biological waste product utilization.
