The Fraunhofer Insti­tute for Indus­tri­al Engin­eer­ing IAO deals with cur­rent issues relat­ing to people at work. In par­tic­u­lar, the insti­tute sup­ports com­pan­ies in recog­niz­ing the poten­tial of innov­at­ive forms of organ­iz­a­tion as well as for­ward-look­ing inform­a­tion and com­mu­nic­a­tion tech­no­lo­gies, adapt­ing them indi­vidu­ally to their needs and apply­ing them con­sist­ently. The bundle of man­age­ment and tech­no­logy expert­ise ensures that eco­nom­ic suc­cess, employ­ee interests and social impact are always equally considered.

Through close cooper­a­tion with the Insti­tute of Indus­tri­al Engin­eer­ing and Tech­no­logy Man­age­ment IAT at the Uni­ver­sity of Stut­tgart, Fraunhofer IAO com­bines basic uni­ver­sity research, applic­a­tion-ori­ented sci­ence and eco­nom­ic practice.
