Gabriele Pinzone, Jon Boles and Mark Pastore join Electrochaea, Liam Bansen and Jay Dalal have new roles
Electrochaea, accelerates decarbonization of the gas grid by producing BioCat Methane, a clean, renewable natural gas substitute using ancient archaea, a groundbreaking solution to make the energy supply more secure and climate friendly.

Gabriele Pinzone is the new Vice President Business Strategy
Electrochaea hired Gabriele Pinzone as its new Vice President Business Strategy. In his leadership role, the internationally experienced engineer and manager of energy transition projects, is responsible for the strategic planning and implementation of power-to-gas projects in cooperation with Electrochaea’s partners, Baker Hughes and Storengy. Gabriele brings more than 20 years of management experience in Europe, the U.S., Africa, the Middle East and Asia. He joined Electrochaea in April leaving New Power Partners, a Danish-German consulting and management firm specializing in the offshore wind industry, where he was Director EPC, responsible for power-to‑X, eFuels, biogas and hydrogen projects worth more than 1 billion EURO. Previously, he led the power plant division at Tractebel and was EPC manager in the power plant division of Caterpillar’s Turbomach subsidiary. Gabriele holds a master’s degree in nuclear engineering from Politecnico di Milano and is a certified engineer for civil and industrial projects by the Italian Association of Engineers.
Jon Dyar Boles, CFA joins the management team as Chief Investment Officer
Jon Boles brings more than 30 years of experience as a sustainable investment and finance professional to his new role at Electrochaea. He has held senior positions in banking, asset management and in the energy industry as well as serving as an independent consultant to renewable energy and cleantech companies. In his new role as Chief Investment Officer at Electrochaea, Jon is responsible for asset-level financing, corporate finance and investor communications. Prior to joining Electrochaea, he advised companies delivering climate change solutions including Fjord Capital, KGAL and Deutsche Telekom’s Smart Cities Unit. Prior professional positions include VP, Corporate Finance at E.ON Energie and CFO of E.ON Italia. He previously built and led Dresdner Bank’s Latin American project finance business. Jon is a Chartered Financial Analyst and holds a Master’s in international economics from the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies of Johns Hopkins University in Washington D.C. as well as a bachelor’s degree from Davidson College.
Electrochaea expands its North American business development team
Electrochaea continues to grow in North America and is expanding its business development team with three new experts. Mark Pastore joined Electrochaea Corporation in April as Director Sales and Business Development, North America. Mark has two decades of experience in clean energy, energy efficiency and emissions reduction. He has a history of developing sales channel partner networks, positioning innovative cleantech products in the marketplace and has been instrumental in their commercial success.
In February, Liam Bansen was promoted to Director of Product and Commercial Development. Liam Bansen joined Electrochaea in 2015 as a Process Engineer and has served as Head of Engineering since 2018. In his new role, he provides leadership and strategic planning for North American projects including assessment and development, execution, engineering resource management and site integration for new projects. Liam is also responsible for coordinating Electrochaea’s product and process design and engineering standards with Electrochaea’s team in Germany and Denmark. Liam has previous experience as a process engineer for biogas upgrading.
Jay Dalal has joined Electrochaea in the role of Controller. Dalal served as an external consultant for accounting, payroll and financial reporting for Electrochaea and now joins the team as a permanent employee. A financial professional with more than 35 years of experience in venture capital, corporate finance and accounting, Jay is responsible for Electrochaea Corporation’s finance and accounting and coordination of operations with Electrochaea’s European operations.
