Uni­ver­sity Erlan­gen-Nürn­berg — Chair of Biopro­cess Engineering

The research focus of the Chair of Biopro­cess Engin­eer­ing is in the field of indus­tri­al bio­tech­no­logy. Here, microor­gan­isms or enzymes are used as biocata­lysts to pro­duce (fine) chem­ic­als, agri­cul­tur­al and phar­ma­ceut­ic­al pre­curs­ors, food and feed, energy sources and innov­at­ive mater­i­als. This research focus is rep­res­en­ted by the work­ing groups Biocata­lys­is and Fer­ment­a­tion as well as Nan­o­bi­o­tech­no­logy. The chair’s research port­fo­lio is com­ple­men­ted by the areas of aquat­ic bio­tech­no­logy and tis­sue engineering.
