Only online: 8th Conference on Carbon Dioxide as Feedstock for Fuels, Chemistry and Polymers
24.03.2020

*** UPDATE ***
Nova-Institut will offer the event as an online conference via ZOOM for up to 500 participants. They try to get all speakers — more than 50 — online on board as planned. Speakers will be contacted by the nova team shortly. Due to different time zones and other problems, there might be some shifts in the programme. The latest programme can always be found at: www.co2-chemistry.eu/programme. The presentations for the innovation award are also expected to take place as planned. The winners will then be chosen by the online participants. As always, the winners will be announced worldwide the following day.As is customary at nova’s conferences, all presentations can be commented on and questions can be asked online. After each session, these questions will be discussed in a panel discussion with the session speakers. Comprehensive information on sponsors, exhibitors and background texts can be found in the conference journal, which is available online: www.co2-chemistry.eu All 140 participants who have already registered will automatically receive a link for online participation. Registration for the webinar is still possible at: http://co2-chemistry.eu/registration/ *** Main topics of the conference are political framework, renewable energy and hydrogen production, carbon capture technologies, CO2-based fuels for transport and aviation, chemicals and polymers, mineralisation and new developed technologies for CO2 utilisation. Carbon Capture and Utilisation (CCU) as a fast-moving, environmental- and industry-driven innovation area has attracted more and more stakeholders. Several start-ups and established companies already launched CO2-based products or efficient utilisation technologies and even more players show their interest in getting involved in this field. Increasingly, they are planning and implementing more pilot, demonstration and commercial plants for Power-to‑X, low carbon fuels and a CO2-based chemistry. This is also stimulated by the improved political framework for CCU: the new version of the Renewable Energy Directive (RED II), which will apply from 2020, opens the doors for all CO2-based fuels, including the use of industrial off-gases for all types of advanced fuels. There are also political discussions how to include the CO2 utilisation in the Emission Trading System (ETS).
Great visions are becoming real business cases and innovations are starting to realise their potential! At the “8th Conference on Carbon Dioxide as Feedstock for Fuels, Chemistry and Polymers”, new and leading players will showcase new and improved applications that use CO2 as feedstock. Main topics of the conference are the political framework, renewable energy and hydrogen production, carbon capture technologies, CO2-based fuels for transport and aviation, chemicals and polymers, mineralisation and new developed technologies for CO2 utilisation. As in previous years, experts from the nova-Institute invite the most outstanding companies and institutes to bring the participants up-to-date on the latest CCU technologies and their implementation. The conference will also highlight the leading trends for the next ten years – particularly in view of the improved political conditions.
