The European Innov­a­tion Uni­on – Ger­man Impulses for the European Research Area

This fund­ing oppor­tun­ity is a call for joint applic­a­tions from Ger­man research insti­tu­tions and their part­ners from the East­ern Part­ner­ship coun­tries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Geor­gia, Repub­lic of Mol­dova and Ukraine) with­in the frame­work of the European research frame­work pro­grams and oth­er European research ini­ti­at­ives (Bridge2ERA-EaP).

Since cross-sec­tor­al cooper­a­tion between sci­ence and busi­ness is rel­at­ively poorly developed in the East­ern Part­ner­ship coun­tries, the fund­ing call aims to bet­ter integ­rate research part­ners from the East­ern Part­ner­ship coun­tries into the European Research Area (ERA) through joint research and innov­a­tion pro­jects. The fund­ing relates to pro­jects through which new con­tacts are estab­lished, exist­ing net­works are expan­ded or new net­works are ini­ti­ated. New part­ner­ships should also be estab­lished or con­crete cooper­a­tion pro­jects pre­pared, and new them­at­ic areas of cooper­a­tion should be iden­ti­fied with­in the frame­work of exist­ing part­ner­ships. This is inten­ded to enable intens­ive and long-term cooper­a­tion between the Ger­man side and research part­ners from the East­ern Part­ner­ship countries.
